Since 1896, Lyndon Electric Department has provided reliable electricity and superior service to the community of Lyndon and the surrounding towns. Lyndon Electric generates, transmits, and distributes energy to a total of 13 towns in the area.

Lyndon Electric is the largest municipal electric department within the state of Vermont, based on square miles of service territory. Currently serving over 5,700 customers.


EV Charging Pilot Program

LED is now accepting applications to be a part of the EV charging pilot program. If you are interested and currently have an EV vehicle please follow the link below to apply. This is a pilot program and the department is looking for a limited number of customers to start with.

Digital Payment Convenience Fee Notice – Effective July 1, 2025

Starting July 1st, convenience fees will be applied to ALL digital payment options which include using a debit card, credit card, autopay or E-check to pay online, Pay By Text or Pay by Phone. 

The fees are paid directly to the processing company and represent the amount charged for each transaction type. 

No fee options include payments made by cash, personal check or money order which can be mailed, left in the drop box or paid at the LED cashier’s office. 

This change is due to the rising costs of processing fees.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause & appreciate your understanding as we manage these increasing costs.

Power Interruption Notice

Current Planned Outage

 

Customers in The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) service area for Sheffield and Glover will experience a planned power interruption on Wednesday March 4th  approximately 4 hours from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. This outage is for NEK Broadband make ready work. Any customers off or near Berry Hill, Hardscrabble Mountain, Maple Row, Blake Pond, Nelson Hill, Mosher, Ott drive, Sheffield Square,  Keniston Hill, Dunn Mountain, Hod Brooks, Gilman Field, Tildys Trail, Dry Pond and Quarry roads will be affected. If there is inclement weather an alternate date of Thursday March 5th 9:00am to 1:00pm will be used.

 We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding. Please contact the LED Operations Department at 626-9252 during regular business hours for further information.
