LYNDON ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT

Since 1896, Lyndon Electric Department has provided reliable electricity and superior service to the community of Lyndon and the surrounding towns. Lyndon Electric generates, transmits, and distributes energy to a total of 13 towns in the area.

Lyndon Electric is the largest municipal electric department within the state of Vermont, based on square miles of service territory. Currently serving over 5,700 customers.


Digital Payment Convenience Fee Notice – Effective July 1, 2025

Starting July 1st, convenience fees will be applied to ALL digital payment options which include using a debit card, credit card, autopay or E-check to pay online, Pay By Text or Pay by Phone. 

The fees are paid directly to the processing company and represent the amount charged for each transaction type. 

No fee options include payments made by cash, personal check or money order which can be mailed, left in the drop box or paid at the LED cashier’s office. 

This change is due to the rising costs of processing fees.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause & appreciate your understanding as we manage these increasing costs.

Power Interruption Notice

 Wednesday May 28, 2025

Customers of The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) in the following areas will experience an electrical power outage on 5/28/25, Wednesday morning, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. With a rain date of Thursday morning 5/29/25 at the same time. This outage is necessary for a line and pole relocation.

 Areas affected include customers in Lyndon along Mathewson Hill Rd., Crestwood Lane, Aldrich Lane, Sutton Rd. in Wheelock, and a portion of Wheelock Rd. in Sutton.

Tuesday June 3, 2025

Customers of The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) in the following areas will experience an electrical power outage on 6/3/25, Tuesday morning, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. With a rain date of Wednesday morning 6/4/25 at the same time. This outage is necessary to complete power restoration work from the flood last July.

 Areas affected include customers in Lyndon along Red Village Rd., Severance Hill Rd., Willey Farm Rd., Chester Field Hollow Rd., Dillon Drive, Shirley Lane, Sheldon Brook Rd., Sheldon Meadow Lane, North Kirby Rd., Sugar Hill Rd., Willoughby View Rd., Brookside Rd.
